Testimonials

“Maths has gone from tears to tiny victories.”

Tutor Maths is trusted by families across the UK to provide gentle, structured support that really moves the dial.

“Our daughter went from quietly panicking about every test to actually volunteering answers in class. The tutor is calm, patient and explains things in a way that finally makes sense to her.”

Sarah, parent of Year 7 learner

“The online set-up is so easy. No travelling, no waiting around in the car, and we still get high-quality, interactive teaching. The regular updates mean we know exactly how he’s doing.”

James, parent of Year 6 learner

“We booked ‘just to get her through SATs’, but she enjoyed it so much we stayed on. The difference in her attitude to maths – and to making mistakes – is huge.”

Amrita, parent of Year 5 learner

Why parents choose Tutor Maths

Support that fits around family life.

We combine expert teaching with a calm, encouraging environment so children feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes – the fastest route to real understanding.

Curriculum-aligned, exam aware

Lessons follow the National Curriculum and build the skills needed for SATs and GCSE success, without overloading your child with drills.

Small groups, big confidence

With no more than six learners per group, every child gets time, attention and space to ask the “silly” questions they might hide in a busy classroom.

Designed for busy families

Online sessions after school, simple tech set-up, and clear communication so you always know how your child is progressing.

What technology do we need?

A laptop, desktop or tablet with a reliable internet connection, plus a quiet space where your child can concentrate. We use a secure, browser-based classroom, so there’s no complex software to install. A microphone is required; a webcam is recommended but optional.

Which age groups do you support?

This course is designed for pupils in Years 5–11 and those resitting GCSE.

What if my child misses a session?

If you let us know at least 24 hours in advance, we’ll provide a short recap video and practice sheet so they can catch up. While we can’t offer refunds for missed sessions, we do our best to keep learners on track.

Are tutors DBS checked?

Yes. All Tutor Maths tutors are experienced educators based in the UK and hold an enhanced DBS check. Safeguarding is at the heart of how we operate online.

Can we continue after the first 4 weeks?

Absolutely. Many families choose to book consecutive blocks. We’ll recommend whether ongoing support is useful for your child and can keep them in the same group where possible.
